Deciding on a coating for the CLIPEX™ posts involved some extensive research. We investigated the following coatings and this is what we found:

• Hot-dipped galvanizing can be too costly for consumers who don't require such a high level of corrosion resistance.
• Electroplated galvanizing does not provide adequate corrosion resistance for many Australian conditions.
• Galvanised products are often hard to see in the Australian rural landscape.

Finally we decided on our High Visibility blue plastic epoxy coating.

This is how we do it - first, the post is acid bathed, then a primer and top coat of colour are applied using an automated electrostatic process. We then finish off the blue epoxy plastic coating using an automated heat treatment oven.
Based on European and American data, the coating offers a wide range of benefits:

• Superior corrosion resistance to that of electroplated galvanizing.
• High visibility. Great for sighting line wires.
• Safe to handle
• Safe for stock.
• Visually appealing.
• Pleasant to handle.
• No sticky black tar residues.
